Trucking HR Grant

This grant aims to assist Canadian employers in recruiting and training new drivers. Employers in the trucking and logistics sector now have the opportunity to access funding that covers the expenses associated with entry-level training. This enables them to onboard newly trained drivers who can contribute to the smooth operation of the supply chain. The grant is not only available to new hires but also to existing employees who are interested in advancing their skills and transitioning into a driving role.

Funding includes:
1. A Driver Training Grant of up to $10,000.
2. A Wage Incentive of up to $10,000 for onboarding new drivers after completing their training.

To qualify for this funding, eligible employees must meet the following criteria:

– Be a Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or have been granted Refugee Status.
– Hold legal entitlement to work as per the relevant provincial/territorial regulations.
– Be currently employed by the company that is accessing the funding.

Employers must fulfill the following requirements:

– Demonstrate sound Human Resources practices.
– Sign the Employer Agreement.
– Provide proof of enrollment and the invoice from the driving school.
– Present paystubs with evidence of all federally and provincially mandated employee deductions (e.g., Employment Insurance, Canada Pension Plan, Income Tax).
